Jose Otero

Coach, Boys Program

Jose Otero has been a dedicated member of the Arsenal coaching staff for many years, bringing consistency, leadership, and a passion for the game to every team he coaches. He currently serves as the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Central Catholic High School, and also serves as a volunteer coach as needed for the 8th grade boys at the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club, where he continues to make a lasting impact on young athletes in the community.

What sets Coach Jose apart is his commitment to doing things the right way. He loves coaching at Arsenal because of the passion the players bring and the program’s emphasis on strong fundamentals, teamwork, and player development. For him, it’s not just about basketball—it’s about building character and teaching life lessons through the game.

Jose believes that real development comes from learning how to play the game the right way, and understanding that sometimes being a great teammate means making sacrifices to grow individually and collectively.

His message to players: “Play hard until the last whistle. If you give everything you have, you’re never counted out.”

With years of experience and a team-first mindset, Coach Jose continues to be a core part of Arsenal’s mission to develop strong players—and even stronger people.
